The South African rock band Seether plays a style of heavy metal mostly associated with the post-grunge era of alternative music, complete with self-obsessed lyrics and a sound that mixes crunchy distortion with brooding texture. The group played main stage on the Uproar Festival alongside bands Avenged Sevenfold, Three Days Grace, Bullet For My Valentine and Escape The Fate, and supported 3 Doors Down on their European tour. The band is touring in 2017 to support "Poison The Parish."

Lake Street Dive

Lake Street Dive is a four-piece band from Boston that has made a mark in 2016. Rolling Stone describes them as "a young band steeped in Motown grooves, Muscle Shoals soul, Beatles melodies, Beach Boys harmonies, and pop divas from Dusty Springfield to Amy Winehouse to Adele." Of their first album, "Side Pony," RS wrote, " If it sometimes feels a bit calculated, it's still pretty irresistible."

The Motet

Founded and led by drummer Dave Watts, The Motet began blending Afrobeat with jazz and electronica more than 10 years ago. With roots in jazz, Afrobeat, funk, salsa and samba, the band's danceable music is also blended with house and techno rhythms into a unique style. The group has proven their talents on the sixth release, 'Dig Deep,' which has a heavy-horned Afrobeat influence combined with electronica.

Kacey Musgraves

A multi-talented musician, Musgraves plays the mandolin, guitar and harmonica, and has written or co-written all songs on 'Same Trailer Different Park.'

The Wood Brothers

Oliver Wood, of the blues-roots band King Johnson, and Chris Wood, of the instrumental jazz trio Medeski Martin & Wood, grew up in Boulder, CO but never really found their own musical chemistry until after they'd forged their own, individual paths for 15 years. After years of musical and geographical separation, they decided to unite and create rootsy music that blends blues, folk and rock music in a way that melds their sibling harmonies and the music they loved as kids together into one package. They are currently on tour to support their latest release, 'Live, Volume 2: Nail and Tooth,' a live set collection to be released on August 28 from Southern Ground.

The band had a big hit that year with "Shut Up and Dance" which was on their last album, "Talking is Hard,'" released in December 2014.

The Devil Makes Three

The Devil Makes Three plays bluegrass and country music. The trio is made up of guitarist/frontman Pete Bernhard, stand-up bassist Lucia Turino, and guitarist Cooper McBean, bringing a slightly punky perspective to vintage American blues. And that's right, they have no percussionist. They have played Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo and opened for Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson.

Maggie Rogers

Singer/songwriter Maggie Rogers, a Maryland native, unexpectedly found herself in the spotlight in 2016 after a video of Pharrell Williams listening to her song "Alaska" went viral. Within a short time she'd gained 100K Facebook followers and her two previous albums were racking up serious plays on Bandcamp. A mastered version of "Alaska" went on to receive over a million plays on Spotify.
