Leo Kottke

Renowned for his adroit fingerpicking guitar style, Leo Kottke’s blues-tinged playing has made an indelible imprint on the world of folk music. His most notable work, 1969’s 6- and 12-String Guitar (commonly known as the “Armadillo album”), has been released and re-released on many different labels over the course of the last 40 years.

The Alarm

The Alarm, formed in 1977, stormed out of Wales in the early '80s, full of bluster and brashness and bombast (they matched U2's energy as an opening act on the "War" tour) and a self-titled I.R.S EP in 1983 with the anthem "The Stand." They folowed that with the smash anthem, "Sixty-Eight Guns." The original lineup broke up in 1989 and re-formed in 2004 ... just in time for singer Mike Peters to be diagnosed with leukemia the following year. He's overcome that after much chemotherapy and treatment, and still fronts the band.
