45th St Brass

Jazz, Funk, R&B/Soul, Rock

Two of the west coast's most unique bands are teaming up once again: the funk/soul/brass of 45th St Brass and the vibraphone/cello/drum power rock of Human Ottoman are invading Washington's capitol to make you feel good and dance your troubles away. 45th St Brass has been delivering their unique brand of funk/soul/brass from coast to coast. Comprised of some of the best section players in the region, individual members have toured and recorded with bands ranging from ODESZA and Macklemore to Roy Hargrove and Clinton Fearon. The band itself has appeared with some of the best dance funk bands around as well as collaborating with a long list of artists as a horn section for hire (most regularly they are the touring horns for the band Jelly Bread out of Reno). You'll be sure to enjoy what the Pacific Northwest Inalnder calls "their own booty-shakin' set full of horns and electrifying vocals." Human Ottoman has created a repertoire of raucous, rhythmically dynamic music which combined their enthusiasm for music of all cultures with classical backgrounds and modern genre-mashing-jazz sensibilities, characterized most of all by their unique instrumentation. From brain-crashing cello solos and atomic vibraphone drops to drum solos that scholars are still struggling to understand, Human Ottoman is bringing polyrhythmic rock to the masses.
