Xandria Phillips is the author of Reasons for Smoking, chosen by Claudia Rankine as the winner of the 2016 Seattle Review chapbook contest. She'll be reading from and signing her new chapbook at King’s Books in Tacoma, WA on February 17, 2018 at 2 PM. Xandria Phillips is a poet who hails from rural Ohio where she was raised on corn and inherited her grandmother’s fear of open water. She is Winter Tangerine's associate poetry editor, the poetry editor for Honeysuckle Press, and the curator of Love Letters to Spooks, a literary space for Black people. Xandria’s poetry is present or forthcoming in Callaloo, Transition, Nepantla, and elsewhere.
